I’m kinda guessing that this is what adulting looks like — you hit your birthday, you have grandiose plans that involve deep-seated laziness:
- Playing video games
- Watching football
- Catch up on watching “Silo”
- Maybe having a nap or something
Seems pretty legit, right? Yeah, well, it’s 5:45 a.m. as I write this, and I’ve done the following since I woke up:
- Ordered a couple of books off Amazon (adding to the insurmountable reading pile)
- Reviewed my to-do list
- Fixed the webserver issues I was having for this site
- Decided that I’ll probably spend a good chunk of my day attacking my to-do list
- read 50+ pages
What’s that to-do list look like?
- 30 minutes guitar practice
- clean my desk
- change the litterboxes
- work on productivity widget for WordPress
- t-shirt design to Cotton Bureau
- do 1 or more leetcode problems
- do 15 minutes of housework
- catch up on freelance work — data import, bug fixes, writing SOW for new client
- design shim for SPD cleats, maybe order 3d print
- 2x job applications
- scan in more Magic cards
- play Magic with Eddy
- work on Udemy coursework
- write for at least 10 minutes
The thing is? Most of that to-do list looks like fun to me. Maybe not the desk and litterboxes.
Is this growing up? Maybe.
This is a test.
