Accomplishments: December 2025

As usual, the holidays were going to be a huge crimp on my productivity, so I was pretty smart about my plans for the month. I wasn’t going to overdo it. To that end, I wanted to do three things:

  • Upgrade to Burton Step-On boots and bindings.
  • Get danbailey.dev up and running.
  • Finally finish my D&D campaign setting, get Session Zero set up.

✅ Burton Step-Ons

Finally! I made this change because I’ve been struggling with lower back issues for years now, which includes reduced flexibility. So I got to knock this one off the list, as I finally got around to ordering the stuff a couple of days ago. I’ll be getting the old gear up for sale on Facebook Marketplace shortly, and getting over to the shop to install the new bindings and to give the board a new wax job. Soon: a few refresher lessons and then I’m getting back on the slopes. WIN.

✅ Website

Holy poop, I’m finally done with this. I crushed it during the weekend before my birthday because I got really fucking sick of poking at Wagtail. I am going to get back to learning that someday, however. Anyway, I’ve got my danbailey.dev site up and running, and I’m okay with doing the WordPress thing again. I’ve got some content to fill out, and some fine tuning to do in-general, but she’s up and running, and that’s a WIN.

↔️ D&D Campaign

While I didn’t quite get to where I needed to be, I did get the map mostly complete, the nations sketched out, a few new monsters added to the bestiary, and had some great ideas came out of some of my other reading. All in all? I’m satisfied with how it went. 1 Partial win.

Minor/Other Accomplishments/101 Things

  • Had a majority of my Christmas shopping done before the 10th of the month.
  • Built up Eddy’s new gaming PC.
  • Crushed a bunch of 101 Things items.

Reading

I’ve been continuing to chug along this month, and had one of my most productive years (reading-wise) in the last two decades. Not all of these were finished this month, but I did have my face in all of them at one point or another.

🛑 Blockers

  • Holiday stuff kept me pretty fuckin’ busy. As it does anyone.

🧐 Lessons Learned

  • Be really careful putting a CPU onto an AM5 socket. Bend enough pins and you’ll have to replace the motherboard. Which, you know, I did. Oy.
