Things have been pretty de-railed since we had to move my mom into memory care, and I needed desperately to get my ass back into gear.
- Garage Rebuild, Phase 1: Complete
- Finalize Plan for PBP Lighting
- Blitz 101 Things
Garage Rebuild
So we had to have the garage door replaced in its entirety. New door (insulated now, too), new motor, tracks, etc., which was a good impetus to finish organizing the garage. Got the workbench in, got everything set up and looking good, installed some better lighting, snagged an ultrasonic cleaner, and even went through and reorganized my tool chest. I’m feeling pretty awesome about the space, and am putting it to good work. WIN.
PBP Lighting
Got my research done, figured out what I am going to do for lights, and got those ordered. Got my alternate front wheel built, and got my shit rockin’. I’m feeling pretty damn good about how this is playing out. WIN.
Blitz 101 Things
This didn’t go as well. I’ll detail it elsewhere, but I made lots of progress on lots of things, but without actually finishing anything. I’m in the final three months of this now, so I gotta hustle like crazy. PARTIAL SUCCESS.

Blockers
- Spent too much time tweaking my 101-WP plugin for WordPress, which I’ll be using to power the next edition of the 101 Things in 1001 Days project.
- Dealing with Eddy and Sam behavior issues.
- The heat was pretty killer in the last week of June and made training a little difficult.
Lessons Learned
I constantly tell the kids that the way you eat an elephant is with “small bites” — I need to take my own advice.
