Accomplishments: March 2025

February was nuts. At first glance, March wasn’t going to be much better. With the impending move and the ongoing job hunt, a shit-ton of projects, and a desire to get back to working out, March turned out to be way worse than February. My planned “big tasks” were:

  • Get Ready to Move
  • Get a Fuckin’ Job
  • Finish a Udemy Course

Get Ready to Move

Man, we crushed this. Early in the month, we had to scramble to get the existing place ready to show to potential renters. We had two walk-throughs on a Saturday and the owners selected one of them, so that made life easier for the rest of the month. By mid-month, we were probably about 2/3rds packed, with only the absolute essentials left, and I write this, we have 11 days until closing/move day, and the current domicile is a storm of cardboard boxes. We’re living on frozen meals and take-out, and we’re ramping up for the big day. WIN.

Get a Fuckin’ Job

On the last day of March, after a month of interviewing like whoa, I managed to land a new gig, more of which I’ll go into later. WIN.

Finish a Udemy Course

Hells yeah! Blasted through most of this course in the late hours, and got it all done. I do love filling up my brain. To keep it fresh, I’m going to go ahead and build some projects in C#/.NET, so I can stay sharp1. WIN.

Minor/Other Accomplishments

  • Shit. Last month, I mentioned that I finished cataloging all my Magic the Gathering cards. That turned out to be incorrect. About six hours after I made that post, I found a box that needed to be indexed. Fortunately, the Jumpstart packs that were in there were unopened, so they went in with the other unopened stuff. There were found Commander boxes, though, that required indexing before I could proceed with the next step of my cataloging — the alphabetizing of the cards. God help me, I got that done, too, even after I found a shitload of uncatalogued cards, too. Fuuuuuuuuck.
  • Solved the issue of the leaky tubeless tires on my gravel bike. That chewed up some time and some money.
  • Got a Python script working that HomeKit recognizes as a Matter device. This is importants for a Lego project that I want to get up and going after we’re in the new place.

Blockers

  • The chaos. The house has been a disorganized mess since we started packing.
  • Some depression. Everything started boiling over this month. Good news, I went and got myself some anti-depressants, and I should be fine.

Lessons Learned

  • Onward. Forward.
